*Some insight into the model: We know you have a lot going on. The new model provides more opportunities for everyone to sign up, whether your work hours make it challenging or you might be waiting for the Western States drawing. We realize that there is no perfect way to do this, but this model allows us to preserve the long standing Laurel surprise opening announcement and also keep signup as accessible as possible.

We are again partnering with PA DCNR / Laurel Hill State Park by hosting a Laurel Highlands Ultra Racers: Spring Volunteer Day! The exact date is TBD! We’ll keep you all updated when we land on an April date soon!

Welcome to the homepage for the Laurel Highlands Ultra races. Each year the race is held on the second Saturday in June. 2024 will be the forty-fifth running of the 70.5 mile race and the nineteenth running of the 50K race.

We acknowledge that the land on which we run the Laurel Highlands Ultra is the original homelands of the Monongahela, Shawnee and other nomadic nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land. Laurel Highlands welcomes racers of every race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics or disability.

All of the races are point-to-point. The races will start in Ohiopyle, PA, with the 70.5 mile individual and relay races running the entire length of the trail to Seward, PA and the 50K races finishing at the 31 mile point before  the intersection of Route 31. All of the races are point-to-point along the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.

We hope to see you out there on June 8th! Thank you and stay safe!

-Dann & Jim (and an amazing group of people that make this event happen!)

Special thanks to the Pennsylvania state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) for allowing the use of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail for this race.
